August 28 & 29 Downtown Mahomet

• Shared Use Path Bridge over the Sangamon River: this project will include rehabilitation of the Truss Bridge over the Sangamon, namely the reconstruction of the north abutment. It will also include some enhancements such as lighting, benches, and a welcoming entry at the north end of the bridge.
• East Mahomet Shared Use Path Connectivity Project: This project will include construction of the path gap between the library and the commercial area that includes McDonald’s, pedestrian movements and path connections at the Prairieview Rd and US 150 (Oak Street) signalized intersection, and a path connection on the west side of Prairieview Road from Patton Drive to South Mahomet Road.
The public information meeting will be held at the Mahomet Public Library 1702 E Oak St, Mahomet, IL, on September 2, 2026, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. The meeting will be conducted in an open-house format. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend this meeting. Persons with a disability planning to attend this meeting should contact the person listed in this Notice by 4pm September 1, 2026, to make arrangements for participating. The Mahomet Music Festival is just around the corner and advance carnival wrist bands are now available. The price is $25.00 per wrist band-CASH ONLY. Stop by The Village of Mahomet's Administration Building, Fisher National Bank in Mahomet or Smith Burgers in Downtown Mahomet.
Positive changes to the Village of Mahomet's water/wastewater billing cycle. Customers are receiving this letter explaining the changes.


The work area is from US 150 to roughly 160’ north. The purpose of the closure is for culvert and pavement replacement.
The closure is anticipated to last all week and possibly through the weekend.
Evergreen Roadworks will be spraying a rejuvenation product on the following asphalt streets: Marietta, Center, & Peacock; Caro Ct; Riverbend Blvd; Division, Main, & State.
The product will also be applied on the asphalt shoulders along South Mahomet Road, so also be careful when crews are working in that area.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE STREET WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY JULY 29 AND 30.
They will be sweeping Wednesday and spraying on Thursday.
Once the product is applied, traffic will be kept off it for about 30 minutes.
When the gray asphalt looks black again and there is no traffic control telling you to stay off, it will be able to be driven on.

The moving road closure will start at Northridge and is planned to be completed by 3:30 p.m.
Lane Closure Notice- The 700 Block of Northridge Drive will be reduced to one lane beginning Tuesday, July 28th so crews can replace sections of concrete.
On Monday, July 27, 2026, the water department will shut all service off for residents that live on Franklin Street between North Jefferson and Lincoln. The interruption of service will begin at 8:00 AM and is expected to end at 2:00 PM. The reason for the interruption of service is to allow the new water main connection. Once service is resumed, the effected residents will be under a boil order.
EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE- Effective immediately and until further notice, the following roads have been closed to repair a sewer main. State Street between Franklin and Augusta, Franklin Street between Lincoln and State Street. Please avoid this area and seek an alternative route.
