As a reminder, The Village of Mahomet will have a special Brush and Limb pick up beginning Monday, May 4, 2026. Crews will begin in Area 1 and will continue until all areas are complete. All areas must have their brush & limbs to the curb no later than 7:00 am on Monday.
The Village of Mahomet will have a special Brush/Tree Limb Collection beginning Monday, May 4. Materials for all zones are to be placed curbside prior to 7:00 a.m. on the Monday or it will not be picked up. The contractor will start with Zone 1 and work through all zones until complete. As an important reminder, normal Brush/Tree Limb Collection Program rules apply. See link for guidelines: https://www.mahomet-il.gov/documents/residents/landscape-waste-collection-program/573669. Unfortunately, we cannot accept complete trees or materials thicker than 6 inches or longer than 5 feet. For entire trees or materials outside of our guidelines, you will need to contact a private tree service for removal or Mahomet Landscapes directly at (217) 586-2520.
**HERBICIDE SPRAYING NOTICE** The Public Works Department will be spraying herbicide on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 (weather permitting) in the following areas. Freedom Plaza, The Village Administration Grounds, the vacant lots on Dunbar and Lincoln, the Water Plant grounds and the Wastewater Treatment Plant grounds. Flags will be posted once the spraying is complete.
LEAF COLLECTION UPDATE- All Areas are now complete. As a reminder Brush and Limb drop off is tomorrow, Saturday, April 18th from 8:00 AM - 12:00PM.
A Representative with Sun Run Solar has secured a Solicitation Permit from April 16- April 18, 2026 AND April 20-April 21, 2026. Solicitation is permitted within the Village of Mahomet Monday-Saturday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Tuesday, April 14, 2026 the Village of Mahomet's Board of Trustees will host and Economic Development Workshop from 6:00-8:00 PM. Public is welcome to attend.
