Office Assistant, Parks & Recreation Department

The Village of Mahomet (pop. 9,434), is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for employment in the Parks and Recreation Department. The Parks & Recreation Office Assistant performs routine and complex administrative assistance duties; oversees and administers day-today activities and functions of the Parks and Recreation Department. This position requires someone who works cooperatively and effectively with the public and other employees in a very busy and sometimes stressful office environment requiring excellence in attention to detail. MAHOMET POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Mahomet Police Department is seeking qualified, certified, police officers for “lateral entry” positions.  The Village of Mahomet is a growing community known for its great schools with proximity to the University of Illinois and Champaign-Urbana.

Economic Development Specialist

The Village of Mahomet (pop. 9,434), is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to serve as its Economic Development Specialist. The position will focus on attracting new businesses, retailers, office complexes, warehousing, and other new commercial developments. Propose creative solutions for redevelopment and revitalization projects and other development challenges. Implement programs related to economic development, assist in commercial area redevelopment, and other short and long-term economic planning efforts. Experience with TIF Districts preferred. Assists in providing regular Economic Development related updates and recommendations to the Village Board and Administrator. 

A bachelor’s degree in or equivalent in business, marketing, economics, urban planning, or public administration or related field plus a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a local government, quasi-governmental or private sector setting, demonstrating experience and success in economic development or similar field. Higher experience level candidates (10+ years) are encouraged to apply and will be given full consideration. Position title change may be considered, dependent on qualifications

The starting annual salary range for the position is $55,000 to $75,000 dependent on qualifications and experience.
