The Village Clerk
The Village Clerk is appointed by the Village President, with the concurrence of the Board of Trustees. The duties of the Clerk can be found in the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) and also in the Village of Mahomet Code of Ordinances.
The Clerk's duties include:
Preserving and maintaining all official permanent records for the Village, including such documents as ordinances, resolutions, contracts and other documents pertaining to the administration of the Village of Mahomet;
Keeping of the Village Seal which is affixed to all official documents after the Village Clerk certifies and attests to official signatures;
Attending all Board and Study Session meetings and records, maintains and preserves the Minutes of each;
Acting as the Freedom of Information Officer (FOIA) for the Village;
Issuing garbage licenses, and solicitation permits;
Administering Oaths and Affirmations upon all lawful occasions;
Serving as the Local Election Official
Providing notary service.

The Village Clerk’s Office is the central contact of all FOIA’s for the Village of Mahomet, unless it concerns Police Records. In this case the Mahomet Police Department would be the contact.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Public notice is hereby given to all persons that the Village of Mahomet Plan and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday October 1, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Village of Mahomet Administrative Office, 503 East Main Street, Mahomet, Illinois, relative to a Conditional Use request from P&P United, Inc., owner, to establish a mixed use commercial development on 1.43± acres of land zoned C-2 General Commercial located on the east side of Purnell Drive approximately 250 ft north of Jones Court, commonly known as 1002 Purnell Drive. The property is more particularly described below:
Lot 11 of Jo-Nell Commons Second Subdivision, recorded at the Champaign County Recorder’s Office as document 2000R28530
Information concerning the proposed Conditional Use will be available for examination on the Village website www.mahomet-il.gov on September 27, 2024. If you cannot access the information online, please contact the Village of Mahomet Administrative Office by phone (217)586-4456 to make other arrangements to view the documents. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding the conditional use request either in person at the public hearing or by prior written statement. Public comments may be submitted in hard copy at the Administrative Office (503 East Main Street, Mahomet) before 2:00 pm on October 1, 2024, or by email submission to Abby Heckman, Village Planner aheckman@mahomet-il.gov no later than 4:00 pm on October 1, 2024, to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings.

2025 CONSOLIDATED ELECTION
The 2025 Consolidated Election will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
The Village of Mahomet will be electing a Village President and 3 (THREE) Board of Trustees Members.
Residents who would like to run for office may pick up an election packet from the Village Clerk, Dawn Mohr at 503 E. Main Street. Office hours are 8:00AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday. Candidate's may also find information at the Illinois Board of Elections website.
Petitions may begin circulating on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
